    Flightcrew Panorama Trip

Garry, Darcy and the gang wrapped up a terrific summer of riding with a weekend trip to Panorama. Stay tuned for photos from the weekend on the slopes. We had 14 riders from the Flight Crew on our wrap up trip to the challenging slopes Panorama last week-end. Everyone had a great time and all returned home in one piece, if a little stiff. It was amazing to see the progression in riding skills in the kids through the week-end,and through the whole season. Simply amazing what some of them can do now. On Saturday we must have set a record for the number of flats in one day, but we persevered, and managed to limit the damage to Neal's rear wheel. Sunday saw Josh demonstrating what can happen to a head set when one T-Bones a tree after a drop! Thanks to Lorne for his expert mechanical skill in getting Josh back on the hill in no time. 3 Parent riders also survived the week-end, with a couple, I dare say, still managing to "school" the younger ones! Of course Darcy showed us all what is possible with some simply amazing moves. Thanks to Neal for showing remarkable patience and taking hundreds of pictures of our exploits. Take care, Garry.

Provincial Mtb This weekend and Upcoming Events

Provincial Championships - August 27 - Terwillegar Park

Thank you!!!!   What a beautiful day.  It's challenging to put into perspective how appreciative we are of the help and support that the volunteers provided to make the event run smoothly.  From preparing the course a week in advance with the gang from Hardcore (Steve, Karen, Todd and Andre) along with Tim Heemskerk and Trevor Pombert clearing all of the overgrowth, downed trees, and thistle bushes.  Staking and flagging the route would have been impossible without Trevor, Roger and Mike Kohlenberg's assistance.  We put in a long and hot 5 hours to finish up the course.

Once showtime started things rolled smoothly thanks to Kathie Keough, Shauna Richard, and Karen Martins running the sign on and registration tent.  Evan and Blain Sherman were fantastic in their first crack timing an event.  And of course Roddi and the soon to be Kathryn Lega looking after announcing and interviewing the racers on the lough speakers.  It was impressive to see Mark and Adam Noden along with Gary and Ried Piller helping out all day long, setting up, tearing down, and marshalling.  Kevin Noble, Kathie Keough, Mary and Peter Knight, Sharon and Stew Hutchings along with James Russel were vital in being present at key points on the course, watching, cheering, jeering, encouraging the racers and cleaning up.  Thank you all for your contributions to a successful Provincial Mountain Bike Championships!

Congratulations to the racers!  Victories to Tim Heemskerk (Elite Men), Trevor Pombert (Master A Sport Men), and Kevin Stafford (U13 men).  Congratulations to Clayton Stafford (2nd Master B Sport Men), John Encarnacao (2nd Master Novice Men), and Peter Knight (3rd Junior Sport Men.
