    Volunteers

This weekend the Edmonton MTB Alliance is having trail maintenance on Sat and Sun to get the Canada Cup trail in shape. United cycle is the signature sponsor of this event so anyone who is available please try to get out and help. The race also needs volunteers and you can sign up with Edmonton MTB Raceing for this race and any other events they are putting on this year. This organization has been instrumental in upgrading MTB racing in Alberta. Please show your support.
Club rides are all up and running and the weather is improving. Come out and support our Club.
May 11 & 12 pick you Learn to Race Event with ABA
Racers get your Licenses on Line with ABAas well. They start this weekend.

First Wednesday Race Team Night A Success!!

The first Wednesday race team night was a success with a group of 10 racers coming out and pre- riding the Canada Cup race course, and some other nice trails in the Edmonton river valley. Stew will post some pictures of this ride soon. Stay tuned!

Welcome to new Race Team members Alyssa Barker and Chris Wicks. The Canada Cup course is awesome and will put Edmonton on the Map. Thanks to Alberta MTB racing for their efforts to elevate our profile in MTB racing.

The Thursday night ride was some what depleted due to weather however 3 of us went and had a great ride in the Mill Creek ravine.

    Rides

With the race team starting this Wednesday I plan to get the casual MTB rides started on Thursday 23 April 2009. We will leave from the United Cycle Store at 6:30 PM. It may be cold so dress warm. I encourage all club members and potential ride leaders to attend this one. It is slower paced than Wed and meant to encourage new riders to improve their skills.
The Saturday Morning casual ride will start on Saturday the 25 th of April. This is a casual ride with what ever bike they wish to bring. Darrell will lead a slow paced ride in the river valley. This is a ride for those looking to get out on the bike socialized and get some miles in for events like the MS or Ride for Cancer bike tours.

    First Road Ride

It appears the girls are tougher than the men when it comes to riding at near 0 C. but I knew that. Thanks Alyssa and Lauri.
Great ride 48 KM's and very little wind. I am sure the numbers will come up with the improving weather. This is a fixed Road Ride on a great course with little traffic.
