    The First Race Is On The Way

    This season’s opening ABA Mountain Bike Cup tentatively begins in Lethbridge, Alberta on Sunday, April 20, 2007 and will be hosted by the Lethbridge Headwinds Cycling Club.

    The race course will be along the Oldman River Valley at Tollestrup Construction just north of Crowsnest Trail on Oldman Road.  For a map to the race venue     click here.  Race start time begins at 10:30 am.  Pre-rides on the course will be available on April 19, from noon to 4 pm and on April 20, from 8 to 9:30 am.  Participants are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the course.

    Please do not park your vehicle on Tollestrup property.  There is a public parking lot south of the Tollestrup Construction Site gates. 

    Registration will occur at the race course on April 19 from noon to 4 pm and on April 20 from 8 to 9:30 am during the pre-rides.  Cost of entry is $35 CDN payable to Headwinds Cycling Club. [Find out more]

    2008 Clothing Is Ready To Go!

    The 2008 Clothing is looking so good. We now have it tagged and ready to ride. This kit could be the best looking, fitting and functioning that you have ever had.     Every piece has a Canadian flag on the right shoulder and Edmonton under Unite Cycle branding. All of our riders and racers will look pro this year.

    Indoor Training

    No more indoor training. The weather has changed and it's light out longer. That means....GET OUTSIDE! stop riding indoors. Put the trainer away and move on. It's time!Party

    Last Sunday some of us had a leg cramping, lung burning good time on our road bikes. We headed out to Devon then out to Calmar and back. Good ride. The roads are perfect (for northern Alberta). However, we would ask that you come in and get your 2008 ABA insurance. This is a very important part of the riding season. If you show up to any ride with a club in Alberta and you don't have this insurance you'll be riding on your own. Please come in to see us about getting done. It's only $35.00 and you insured for the year. It should be a great season with a full ABA callander. See you soon for sign-up!
